Normandy has rolling hills with fields and orchards, divided  by hedges and rustic fencing and is famous for its cream, butter, camembert, cider and calvados.

There is opportunity to cycle, hike, play golf and go horse riding in scenic La Manche, the most westerly region in Normandy, near the Bretange border.

La Tulipe Noire is situated at a cycle route and nearby is the 12th century abbey, L’abbaye de la Lucerne (which is open to the public). This is situated at the Grande Randonnee 226, a long distance hiking route.

The coast has its friendly fishing ports and relaxing, quiet sandy beaches where you can sun bathe, swim, go sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing on the beaches. You can visit the islands Guernsey, Jersey and Iles Chausey by boat.

  • Granville is a beautiful fishing town with a quay from which you can take the boat to Guernsey, Jersey and Iles Chausey. It also offers a variety of fish restaurants. Christian Dior was born in Granville and his birthplace is now the Diormuseum.
  • Very famous is le Mont Saint Michel, the abbey built on a rock in the sea. Archangel Michael stands on top of this religious building.
  • Saint Malo en Cancale are beautiful coastal places.
  • The D-day-beaches are worth a visit.
  • Villedieu-les-Pôeles is known for its copper pans and bell-foundry.
